Biography
Ross Gillett lives on Dja Dja Wurrung country in Daylesford. His first collection of poems, The Sea Factory, was published as part of the Five Islands Press New Poets series in 2006. His most recent collection Swimmer in the Dust was released by Puncher and Wattmann in 2022. Ross’s poems have won many awards including the Newcastle Poetry Prize, the FAW John Shaw Neilson Award (twice), the Woorilla, and Melbourne Poets Union prizes. Most recently, he was shortlisted for the 2022 Montreal Poetry Prize. Ross is a poetry editor for Puncher & Wattmann and Liquid Amber Press, and also works as a freelance editor and poetry mentor.
