Hugh Jones

Hugh Jones worked as a journalist for more than 30 years in both Australia and the UK, then in strategic communications. He edited several newspaper anthologies while working for News Corporation, including The Bible of the Bush to celebrate 125 years of The Weekly Times newspaper. He won an Award of Excellence from the international Society of Newspaper Design in 1999. He majored in History at university but only in semi-retirement has he actively pursued this interest. A sixth generation Tasmanian, he has lived in Melbourne’s West for the past 35 years. He is president of the Williamstown Literary Festival.
