As a child, Sue Lawson spent her time on the family farm reading, writing, listening to her father and grandfather’s stories and avoiding working with the cattle. Today, after careers in both teaching and radio, Sue is a full time writer. When not writing, she runs author talks and workshops for young people and adults.
Sue is passionate about connecting and engaging young people with story. Sue’s latest book, Freedom Ride was shortlisted for the CBCA Book of the Year and NSW and Western Australian Premier’s Literary Awards. Sue is currently working with Boon Wurrung Elder, Fay Muir on a number of non-fiction projects, including Nganga, a dictionary of Aboriginal words. Sue’s website is www.suelawson.com.au
