Jackie Kerin

Biography

Jackie Kerin has a performance and writing background. She is a highly decorated storyteller working in the oral tradition having won awards at the Port Fairy Folk Festival and Woodford. Her children’s books Lyrebird! A True Story and Phar Lap the Wonderhorse are both recognised by the Children’s Book Council of Australia as being of excellence.

As president of Storytelling Australia Victoria, she is passionate about creating spaces where anyone can learn the art of spinning a good yarn. Jackie hosts Fabled Nights in Newport, a monthly storytelling evening. She is a familiar face in folk and literature festivals with Tales from the Flyway, a show about migratory shore birds developed with musician collaborator, Sarah Depasquale. jackiekerin.com.au
