The Footpath Library Readings

Join us as we close the 2017 Festival in fine style.  The Footpath Library readings have become a much-loved Festival favourite as Shayne Francis Sidhu brings us some of Australia’s best loved actors to read writings that have touched their hearts and their lives.  This time they’ll be sharing them on the big stage of the Festival Hub in the Town Hall Ballroom. Join Richard Piper, Rod Mullinar, Liddy Clark, Elaine Crombie, Jeremy Stanford and Natalia Novikova for a warm and wonderful special treat on a winter’s evening. A not to be missed finale!

The Footpath Library readings event also shines a light on the wonderful work of The Footpath Library. The Footpath Library aims to enrich the quality of life for homeless people, encourage literacy and promote a society that is well informed about homelessness. The Footpath Library encourages the benefits of reading and connection by giving quality books to homeless people through libraries installed in hostels and community organisations, as well as mobile libraries.
