A big congratulations to Nick Gadd  on winning the Nature Conservancy Nature Writing Prize for 2015 . His winning piece, A Landscape of Stories, is a wonderful reflection on walking through the western suburbs of Melbourne.

“As I walked, I became fascinated by the stories of the suburbs. Many of us are remarkably unaware of what has happened in our communities. Events of a few years ago are soon forgotten. But landscapes – whether urban or rural – do not forget as quickly as we do. Around us there are traces of other lives, other histories, if we care to seek them out.”

Nick will be joining the Willy Lit Fest on Saturday 13 June, 7.30pm – 10.00pm for Stereo Stories, a combination of live music and personal stories with great writers and musicians. Featuring a cast of thousands you’ll hear Lucia Nardo, Rijn Collins, Zoe Krupka, Salvatore Romita, Nick Gadd, Peter Maskell, Hugh Jones, Jack Gramski, Anthony Shortte, Ian Carpenter, Darren ‘Smokie’ Dawson, Rick Kane, Reuben Maskell  and Stephen Andrew.

Tickets: Full $20, Concession $17 Early bird $15 (available until Sunday 24 May).
