Romance Writers

Think of ‘historical romance’ and we bet the first words that come to mind are ‘Oh, those bodice rippers…’

Fortunately the world of historical romance has moved on in leaps and bounds since the days when bodices ripped, Fabio graced the covers and Barbara Cartland reclined on her day bed dictating to her secretary.

Sara Hood will chat with these three multi-published and award winning local Victorian writers of historical romances – Alison Stuart, Beverley Eikli and Sasha Cottman who will introduce readers to the new world of historical romance where helpless maidens no longer swoon in the arms of shirtless pirates. Today’s historical heroes have to fight hard to win the love of their feisty heroines.

While Regencies and Highland romances may still top the best seller lists, readers can now find historical romances set in any period or place in history. It is a genre that refuses to be categorised. Meet the panel and read more here.
