Williamstown Literary Festival 2015

Swimming in Words

Saturday 13 June - Sunday 14 June

The 2015 Willy Lit Fest brings you talented writers producing gritty tales of crime, tender memoirs and family histories. We tackle tough issues with writing on mental health, justice, refugees and our relationship with the environment. We’ll take a candid look into unconventional lives, dig into the divided heart of creative mothers, delve into tender and sexy Australian love stories and reflect on our wartime memories.

We’ll investigate our love affair with all things Holden, our fixation with crosswords and our belief that books matter. We’ll explore the pull of the ocean, the beauty of our feathered friends, as well as go armchair travelling with two adventurous cyclists!

There’s a chance to build skills as storytellers and poets, enhance creativity through Treasure Mapping, craft "Sticky Stories" locative literature, learn about writing for journals and to take a peek into the working processes between writers and illustrators.

Poets will perform, actors will read, and our beloved writing community will have a chance to show off their skills in the annual Ada Cambridge Prize popular People’s Choice, and Pop In - Pop Up Readings in the Festival Hub. The 2015 Willy Lit Fest promises to have you swimming in words! We look forward to welcoming you and your friends!
