Williamstown Literary Festival 2015
Swimming in Words
Saturday 13 June - Sunday 14 June
That's a wrap!
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the festival.
The 2015 Willy Lit Fest brought you talented writers producing gritty tales of crime, tender memoirs and family histories. We tackled tough issues with writing on mental health, justice, refugees and our relationship with the environment. We took a candid look into unconventional lives, explored the divided heart of creative mothers, delved into tender and sexy Australian love stories and reflected on our wartime memories.
We investigated our love affair with all things Holden, our fixation with crosswords and our belief that books matter. We explored the pull of the ocean, the beauty of our feathered friends, and we went armchair travelling with two adventurous cyclists!
There’s was a chance to build skills as storytellers and poets, enhance creativity through Treasure Mapping, craft "Sticky Stories" locative literature, learn about writing for journals and to take a peek into the working processes between writers and illustrators.
Poets performed, actors read, and our beloved writing community showed off their skills in the annual Ada Cambridge Prize and popular People’s Choice. The 2015 Willy Lit Fest promised to have you swimming in words and swim we did!
We look forward to welcoming you and your friends to the 2016 Festival - date to be announced soon. 2015 reviews in our news section.
